A Different Image Every Second of the Year

Each second a new image is available. The number of seconds from the beginning of the year is converted to a 5 x 5 visual binary representation which is tiled. The default is a random tiling. The patterns are simple, yet interesting all the same. Stare at the image for a few moments, noticing the light and dark patterns. Some patterns are quite fascinating. Click on the thumbnails on the left to view past images. Each January 1st, the sequence starts over again. But since there are more than 31 million seconds in a year (and thus as many different images), you are unlikely to see the exact same image more than once.

Clicking on the main image toggles maximizing it. Once maximized you can hit F11 to toggle the browser's full-screen mode.
